找到了全文: UW President addressing corona (UPDATE) These are the main takeaways from the meeting. Students asked questions and below are her answers (paraphrased).
"Should we be cancelling classes?"
We are aware that virus may already be present on campus, but based on medical professional advice, we don't need to close campus.
Urging faculty to maximize academic flexibility in favor of the students.
Pushing for Canvas/online alternatives to class activities. Big push towards making resources online-accessible.
"Addressing the +15,000 votes on the petition... isn't that enough to cancel classes?"
No, because infection isn't airborne. Being in same closed space isn't enough to get someone infected.
"What about immunocompromised students? How is Hall Health dealing with this?"
Working on it.
"What if you suspect you have corona?"
Contact primary care provider first BEFORE going to Hall Health.
"What about students that aren't insured/don't have a primary care provider?"
These students SHOULD contact hall health... over the phone?
Hall health will try to cover costs and give access to treatment.
No guarantee or solid infrastructure surrounding that. "Working on it"
"What if a professor is penalizing you for attendance?
Contact president or head of chair, and they will take care of it for you. Students should not be penalized for attendance.
If you are feeling overwhelming anxiety due to the outbreak, that is also a good enough reason to stay home. Just notify professor beforehand.
"What about attendance during finals?"
We're pushing for academic flexibility around finals. Talking to faculty about options.
In conclusion... they are doing a lot of talking, but not a lot of infrastructural changes are being made. UW President does have final say behind initiative, but is listening mainly to local medical professionals and CDC to navigate actions. A lot of the "solutions" are centered around the actions of the individual (in the form of self isolation).
An airborne disease is any disease that is caused by pathogens that can be transmitted through the air by both small, dry particles, and as larger liquid droplets[1]. WIki 第一行 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airborne_disease
